Nicole and Ronald

Nicole and Ronald were married back in December and had a beautiful reception at the Sheraton Society Hill. Erin and her team at Proud to Plan were on hand to make sure everything went smoothly and we had the pleasure of doing the lighting. We up lit the room in red and then did a snow flake break up pattern on the dance floor along with the couples monogram.

Thanks to Faith West Photography for the images.

{Tune in Tuesday} Becky

I don't listen to the radio much anymore and don't know a lot of current artists or new music. When I'm in the car with my daughter, I usually have B101 on - I know a decent amount of what they play and she likes it.

Recently I've been listening to the Mumford & Sons album. I like their sound, plus I'm a big lyrics person and I like what they have to say.

I've always loved Motown and think the Big Chill soundtrack is the best of all time. Billy Joel, James Taylor and Neil Young have also always been favorites of mine.

I also like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Damien Rice, Mat Kearny, The Fray, Pat McGee Band, etc.

Thanks so much to Jenn Childress for the image, it is one of my all time favorites!

{Get To Know Us Monday} Matt Bowyer

Matt is one of our DJ's and has been with Synergetic for quite a while now. For those of you who don't know him, nows your chance to "meet" him. And even if you have met him, now you can get to know him better. (Thanks to Joy Moody for the image).

Becky: Where are you from?
Matt: I have lived in a few different places, but I graduated from Pennsbury High School, so I like to say I’m from the Levitown area. I live in Horsham now.

B: Do you have a “day” job?
M: I'm a DJ 24/7.

B: What’s your favorite type of music? Do you have a favorite song?
M: I like rock even though there are so many different kinds of rock now. My cousin was in all types of rock bands growing up, so I guess I grew to love it. I can’t really say one song is my favorite but it would probably be something by the Counting Crows.

B: How’d you get into DJing? What’s your favorite thing about it?
M: Mike Keleher showed me how songs could be blended together seamlessly and I have been hooked ever since. My favorite thing about DJing is when I mix an old song and a newer song together and the crowd goes crazy for both songs.

B: What did you want to be when you grew up? Is it still an option? ?
M: Like every kid growing up I wanted to be a professional baseball player. It isn’t much of an option now, but I still love the game. I play Sunday morning softball in the summer.

B: What’s your favorite type of event to DJ, why?
M: A wedding. No two weddings are ever the same. I love the challenge of finding that perfect blend of music to fit the crowd that evening to keep them dancing till the party stops.

B: What are your favorite things to do/hobbies?
M: I love playing sports so when I can I love playing softball, roller hockey, and golf. I also love watching the Philadelphia sports teams: Flyers, Phillies and Eagles.

B: How long have you been a DJ?
M: I’ve been a DJ at synergetic for about 7 years now.

B: WHat's your favorite movie?
M: A very hard question. The one movie I can watch over and over is Shawshank Redemption, so I guess I would say that is my favorite.

B: Do you have any pets?
M: Yes. My girlfriend and I have a six month old cat named Memphis.

Make sure to check back every Monday for another Q&A. If you have anything you'd like to know about us, leave a comment with your question, post it on our Facebook page or send it in to beckyd@synergeticsounds.com.

{Video} Lighting at the Downtown Club

This was another great wedding at The Downtown Club. This room looks so good in amber and we had the pleasure of working with the team at Proud to Plan to come up with the perfect design for this wedding.

{Get To Know Us Monday} Mike

Mike is one of our DJ's and an all around nice guy. He's also Mr. July in our calendar - if you don't have one yet, what are you waiting for?! It's filled with good looking guys, fantastic photography, it's only $10 and goes to an amazing cause! (Thanks so much to Gabe of Philip Gabriel Photography for the image).

Becky: Where are you from?
Mike: Fairless Hills, PA

B: Do you have a day job? What is it?
M: Yes, I'm currently taking classes at West Chester University and Working at IceWorks in Aston, PA as a strength and conditioning coach.
B: What's your favorite type of music?
M: My favorite type of music is hip hop. I love the flow, the beats and the stories behind each song. However it depends on how my day is going and what i'm doing at the time.

B: How did you get into DJing? What's your favorite thing about it?
M: I was introduced to DJing through Kurt Mehler back in 2005. I went out to my first job with Jason at the Top of the Tower in Philadelphia and instantaneously fell in love with the atmosphere. My favorite thing about it is the creativity involved in controlling the party.

B: What did you want to be when you grew up? Is it still an option? Is that what you do now? M: When I was younger I wanted to work in a Zoo as a Zoo Keeper. It is not an option now - although I do like animals, I chose a different career path. Along with working as a strength and conditioning coach for the Little Flyers organization I am also training a few figure skaters.

B: What is your favorite type of event to DJ, why?
M: My favorite type of event to DJ would have to be a wedding. Weddings are definitely the most challenging type of event to DJ due to the variety of guests and many different age groups. Weddings allow me to show my true colors and creativity.
B: What are your favorite things to do/hobbies?
M: The most peaceful place for me is the outdoors. Consequently, my favorite activities are playing sports, hiking (with the dog), snowboarding, mountain biking - basically anything outside.

B: How long have you been a DJ?
M: 6 years

B: What's your favorite movie?
M: Casino

B: Do you have any pets?
M: Yes, I have two dogs. Milo a 4 year old a pekanese poodle and Riley a 3 year old american bulldog.
