Lighting (Pin Spotting and Up Lighting)

It is much easier to show you how lighting can change the look of a room using video. We have been shooting a number of videos lately so we can show you and help you understand how our lighting works and what your options are. We have also been documenting our work on some recent weddings so we can share the different designs we'vce created in a number of different locations. We hope you enjoy this video! There are plenty more to come.

A Few Recent Testimonials

We LOVE getting testimonials from our clients. We really do. We love what we do and there is nothing better than being told that what you did made someones day extra special. It really makes it all worthwhile :).

Here are a few we've gotten recently.

Alisa and Brian were married August 20th at Laurita Winery. Matt and Dan kept the party going all night!
"I can't thank you enough for Friday night! WOW...the wedding was everything and more that I could have asked for and all the next day, everyone was commenting how great the music was ;) So thank you!!!"

Lisa and Paul were married on August 14 and had an extremely fun reception at the Northampton Valley CC.
"I just wanted to write you a quick note to let you know that Kurt and Tristan did a FABULOUS job at our wedding. Everyone commented that it was such a great time and the music was great. They danced the entire night. I was only upset that I could not dance to all the songs and kept getting pulled away! I guess they say that's what happens at your own wedding. :-) It was a great party and I just wanted to thank Kurt and your team for your excellent work."

Tuere was married on July 24 at The Hilton on City Ave. We added to the ambiance of the room with some beautiful lighting.
"Everything was beautiful at the wedding! Everyone said that they've never seen anything like it accept on TV and that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. I appreciate you and your staff working so hard to get it together in the little time that Hilton gave us. Stephanie (our planner) said you guys were great. Thanks again for your great service."

A short and sweet one from Danielle who was married on July 17 at the Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill. We also did some beautiful lighting for her reception.
"Everything was so perfect - exactly as I imagined it. It was such a wonderful day and the lighting helped make it so beautiful."

Congratulations again to you all. We're so glad you had such wonderful days and that we were able to be part of them.

Randi and Steve at Talamore

Randi and Steve were married on June 18 at Talamore Country Club. Jason and Ed kept them dancing and added to the beauty of the room with some lighting.

Talamore is a great place work. The ballroom has a huge dance floor and a setup that is perfect for lighting. With the upper balcony area, we can really get the lighting design to look its best.
This was a great wedding too! It was an intimate crowd, so we were able to play the exact music they guests wanted to hear and not worry about trying to please various groups of people. The room really looked awesome. We did up lighting in purple on both floors and a very ambient dance floor wash in amber that gave it just enough light. We try very hard not to "over do" the lighting and from the pictures, I think you can see that this was just perfect.

And where do I begin about the staff and food at Talamore? Jim, Mark and Jennifer do an outstanding job. Every time I eat there (which is every single time because they love to take care of the professionals) I am never disappointed! Incredible food! We also had the pleasure of working with Bart of Barton Paul Photography - thanks so much for the beautiful images!

Flower Tips from La Petite Fleur

We asked our friend Leigh Karsch and the staff of La Petite Fleur to share some tips and advice with us regarding flowers and flower choices for weddings. For more information on La Petite Fleur and to see some of their beautiful work, check out their blog.

1. Go for Inner-Beauty
Particularly when doing tall centerpieces, what’s going on inside the vase or cylinder is just as important as what’s coming out of it. Ask your florist about filling containers with colored water, loops of tall grasses, a strand of suspended blooms, or a layer of natural rocks (just fill the bottom quarter of the vase).

2. Design a Doppelganger
Love the look of hydrangea, but can’t invest in this pricey bloom for 20 centerpieces? Talk with your florist about designing a doppelganger. Carnations are lovely, accessible, inexpensive flowers that, when bundled, can mimic the ethereal, garden look of a hydrangea.

3. Turn Over a New Leaf
Take a page out of the La Petite Fleur idea book, and grow with a wishing tree in lieu of a standard guest book. Rather than a series of autographs, give your guests the opportunity to offer sage sentiments and advice with a Wishing Tree. This interactive element engages guests, makes things more personal, and results in a sentimental keepsake. Guests hang hand-written notes on a tabletop tree, and at the end of the affair, leaves are plucked from the tree and placed in a scrapbook.

4. Draw from your Relationship, or Just Draw
Accessories provide opportunity to personalize and further engage your guests in the festivities. Consider wine bottles as table numbers, embellished with custom labels designed by you. Or, get personal, and name your tables after members of your bridal party, and offer fun, "did you know" facts on each card.

5. Put on the PrettyConsider accessorizing the containers in your centerpieces - the right accessory can “finish” the pretty, unique look you're envisioning - ao ask your florist about embellishing the outside of a clear vase or cube with leaves, branches, or even paper that’s secured with long strips of grass, ribbon, or depending upon your event’s style, colored coils.

Thanks so much to Leigh and the staff at La Petite Fleur for sharing those tips with us!

Our better halves

One of the commonly overlooked aspects of this business is how the other people in our lives are affected by what we do. Every weekend we go to work and leave behind our wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc., and work the hours most people have off. We work nights, weekends, holidays, and all through the summer. And for the most part, our better halves never complain - and often go without thanks. This is to acknowledge them and to let them know that I, as well as everyone else in the Synergetic family and our clients appreciate them. We appreciate your understanding and support. It means a lot to all of us, but even more so to me, because I am the one who pushes for us to grow every year.

So to all of our significant others - thank you!

Synergetic Staff - Becky

One of the keys to our success is that we always try to be one step ahead when it comes to our marketing. And a lot of (alright almost all of) that responsibility falls on Becky. She is the one who makes sure people know about us and are up to date with everything we do.

Becky has been with our team since 2008 and has made a great impact. We have always had great ideas, but never anyone to carry them out. With Becky, all these ideas are now becoming reality. In fact, you have probably all received an email or phone call from her at some point, maybe even several phone calls! So now, if you haven't had the chance to meet her, you can put a face with the name/voice.

The only down side to her is that she isn’t a Philadelphia sports fan! Ugh, I know. Our office is always in a debate when it comes to talking sports. But we forgive her!

She and her husband Matt welcomed their baby girl into the world back in December. She is such a cutie.

A couple of thank yous

We received this great thank you from Christie and Mike - they were married in June at Cairnwood Mansion.

"We never got to tell you how wonderful you were at our wedding. A DJ or band is such a big deal. We’ve seen weddings succeed and some crash and burn mainly due to the music. We weren’t interested in a band- we didn’t like the idea of not playing the real songs and having someone cover everything. But- a DJ made us nervous because we didn’t want to go cheesy. We were so excited after we met with you for the first time. You actually made us confident about our decision and we were no longer doubting the idea- we were actually looking forward to it.

It was a very very hectic day- but when I heard Kenny Chesney during cocktail hour- I stopped dead in my tracks and turned to Mike and said 'Oh my god- this is our wedding- and we are listening to Kenny at our wedding.' That was the first hit of the night from you- you really listened to us- but you didn’t let us run the show. Which was important because we were happy- but our guests weren’t bored with our country music. You were just amazing. You played everything we wanted (which I didn’t think was possible) and even more things we wanted and never even told you. I can’t explain how much you made our wedding!! You were also clutch when it came to intros, our first dance, the garter toss- you were right there organizing us and helping us. It was so crazy I was amazed how well you did everything.

We were just so nervous about people having a good time. I didn’t even finish eating dinner before I was out on the dance floor. Mike and I talked before the wedding and we said how much it was going to suck because we weren’t looking forward to sitting in a corner talking to Aunt Sue and just sitting at tables talking to people. I just kept whining saying 'Miiiike, I don’t want to be the Bride- I just want to dance all night.' Hahaha and because of you- you made something possible we didn’t think would happened. You were so awesome- that we socialized ON the dance floor instead of watching the dance floor. You honestly were the #1 reason Mike and I enjoyed our Wedding. It was the best night of our life. I said to you that we wanted it to be like the best night at a bar/club and you delivered. Not just to our young friends, but to my older relatives. Aunts and Uncles I never knew could dance were busting a move.

Matt I would recommend you to everyone in the world- and if we ever need a DJ you will be the first one I’ll call. I can’t thank you enough for making our Wedding go beyond our dreams and expectations.
"

Christie and Mike - we're so glad you were pleased! You really know how to make someone feel good! We wish you all the best!

Gina and Jeff had a fun reception at Currents Ballroom at the Adventure Aquarium. Matt Bowyer and Lex DJ'd their wedding last month and kept the dance floor busy. We just received this thank you from Gina and Jeff.

"Hello Synergetic! We just wanted to say thanks again for being a part of our wedding. Everyone had a great time and the music was wonderful. You guys are awesome and I look forward to working with you again (hopefully) at all of my sisters' future weddings. Thanks again!!!
-Gina and Jeff (7/10/10)"

Congratulations Gina and Jeff! We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you at your sisters weddings soon! :)
